Job Responsibilities
The mission of the Kent County Friend of the Court is to serve the Court and the families of Kent County to ensure children are supported, both financially and emotionally. We enforce child support, custody and parenting time, monitor accounts and prepare recommendations for the Court regarding custody, parenting time and child support.
The person selected for this position, located in our enforcement unit, will process and mail a high volume of documents including various correspondence and court orders. The person in this position will also be involved in court processes, preparing paperwork for court, checking in parents at court, and will work in multiple databases and computer programs, perform statistical record keeping and participate in other clerical functions in the office.
We are looking for someone who handles pressure well, completes work within deadlines, maintains objectivity and confidentiality, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of successful clerical experience required , or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Desire Associate’s degree, paralegal, or two years of work experience in work similar to that performed by the Friend of the Court.
