What are the responsibilities and job description for the SIGN SHOP GRAPHIC TECHNICIAN position at County of Greenville - NORTHERN BUREAU?
Designs traffic control signs; uses digital design software to create the patterns for traffic control signs; saves the appropriate files for each design created; and creates and designs specialty signs as requested. Fabricates traffic control signs; receives and reviews work orders; generates production schedule; determines priorities; operates production machinery; applies color sheeting; trims excess; cleans and maintains production equipment; and completes and maintains work logs. Installs and maintains traffic signs; drills holes; fastens signage to post or object face; inserts anchor into holes or drives pins into anchor or drives anchor into the ground; installs post; removes old signs and posts as needed; inspects existing traffic signs; and performs cleaning, repairs, or replacements as needed. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies; ensures adequate supplies to complete work assignments; initiates request for replacement supplies; receives and stocks incoming supply shipments; notifies supervisor of equipment maintenance and repair needs; and maintains inventory records. Performs other duties in support of department operations; assists with applying pavement markings; sets up work zones for installations; and prepares and submits invoices. High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of graphic design, street and road sign installation, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
