The Gratiot County Commission on Aging is seeking a compassionate, organized, and energetic Food Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of one of our senior dining sites. This position is about much more than serving meals—you'll help create a welcoming environment where older adults enjoy nutritious food, meaningful activities, and valuable social connections.

What You'll Do
As the Food Site Manager, you will:
- Oversee the daily operation of a senior nutrition site.
- Ensure food is handled, served, and stored in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain sanitation standards.
- Welcome new participants and help them become familiar with the Food with Friends program.
- Coordinate educational, recreational, and social activities for participants.
- Recruit guest speakers and organize engaging programs.
- Maintain participant records, meal counts, volunteer hours, and required documentation.
- Collect and process participant donations.
- Work closely with volunteers and Commission on Aging staff to provide exceptional service.
- Assist with Health Department compliance and inspections.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Current ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain if applicable).
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and volunteers.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to serve older adults.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to push, pull, reach, and perform routine food service tasks.
