Social Worker- Child Protection Case Management

Goodhue County Health & Human Services is seeking qualified applicants for Child Protection Case Management Social Worker. The position that is available within our team provides support to families through Child Welfare Services. Specific duties for these positions may vary depending on the needs of the unit, so we are seeking candidates who are willing to be flexible and learn a variety of programs. Additional duties within Child Protection Case Management may also be assigned as needed. This position may include some of the following duties:

• Works with families on an ongoing basis to address risk factors and increase safety.
• Collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary team with law enforcement, the county attorney’s office, Guardian ad Litem’s office, and other community agencies.
• Engages families and supports to collect information about families, assess the safety and well-being of children, and develop plans to ensure safety and access to resources.
• Places and supervises children in foster home placements when necessary to ensure child safety.
• Provides written court reports and court testimony as needed.
• Completes thorough and timely documentation that meets state and agency standards and complies with all data practices requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related human services field and two (2) years of full-time work experience preferred as a Social Worker in a public human services agency and/or a private community services agency that contracts services with a public human services agency. Or

A Master’s Degree in social work or related field may substitute for up to one year of required Social Worker experience.

A valid Minnesota driver’s license.

Required Social Work experience must have occurred after receipt of Bachelor's Degree.

Compensation and Benefits

County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The Child Protection Social Worker is compensated at salary grade 112 and starting annual compensation is $73,860.80 - $114,524.80. Starting pay will be $73,860 per year.
