OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB
The duty of a Grant Clerk is to ensure that the grants are administered and monitored in accordance with the grant award. The job of the Grant Clerk is to work closely with and assist the Chief Community Development Specialist.
The duty of the Tax Collections Monitor is to assist with managing accounts and communicating with local county tax collectors. Additionally, this position works closely with the County Financial Director at the County Commissioners' discretion.
The duty of the UPI Clerk is to assign uniform parcel identifiers to new parcels of land and to certify existing uniform parcel identifiers on property documents to be recorded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF GRANT/TAX COLLECTION MONITOR/UPI CLERK
1. A Grant Clerk is to follow grants after the award to ensure that they comply with the grant award under the supervision of the grant writer.
2. He or she must enforce accountability for the grants received and initiate tracking procedures.
3. Onboard the new Tax Collectors.
4. Assists the Tax Claim Department by distributing tax bills and books to all tax collectors at the beginning of tax season.
5. Ensure warrants are signed by each Tax Collector at the beginning of tax season.
6. Ensure the exoneration form is signed by each Tax Collector at the end of tax season.
7. Scan county tax bills and make corrections and calculations as required by the Assessment Office.
8. Maintain reconciliation on all Tax Collectors' monthly reports.
9. Required annual review of all Fayette County Tax Collectors.
10. Prepare the end-of-tax-season report and submit unpaid tax bills to the Tax Assessment Department.
11. Acquiring and providing proof of tax payments, as requested.
12. Assign UPI numbers to all documents that require a Uniform Parcel Identification number.
13. Verify that properties to be transferred have the correct tax parcel ID numbers on them by searching the Fayette County Tax Assessment Office database.
14. Work with the Recorder of Deeds Office to coordinate the transfer of documents received by mail.
15. Maintain a record of UPI certifications.
16. Conference with Assessors and Mapping Department to verify the accuracy of UPI certification
Pay: $19.50 - $19.97 per hour
