Part-Time Corrections Officer – Elk County Prison
The County of Elk is hiring entry-level, part-time Corrections Officers to join our dedicated team at the Elk County Prison in Ridgway, PA. This is a bargaining unit position with a starting wage of $18.45/hour, plus shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and security of inmates, staff, and the public
- Enforce rules and regulations
- Prevent escapes and maintain inmate discipline
- Escort inmates to court, appointments, and other facilities
- Operate and inspect security systems
- Supervise inmate visitation and report violations
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays (24/7 coverage required)
- Must be free of criminal history (background checks conducted)
- Strong commitment to safety and professionalism
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass drug test
