Acceptable Experience and Education
High School Diploma, or its equivalent, plus two (2) years of Criminal Justice experience, with six (6) months of customer services and good interviewing skills, to include one (1) year of developmental supervisory or managerial experience.
Or any other equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certificates and Licenses Required
Must have or obtain by date of hire a valid driver's license applicable to job responsibilities, with a driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.
In order to access into the County’s network and systems, a personal smart device is required by the hire start date.
As directed provides lead work to section employees, including assigns and reviews work, trains, and provides input on performance evaluations;
Responds to requests in person, by mail, and by telephone in accordance with established
policies, procedures, and regulations;
Ensures office staff follows office policies and procedures;
Coordinates assigned services and activities with those of other divisions, and outside agencies;
Conducts Pre-release interviews and screens individuals in need of pre-trial supervision or who qualify for a personal recognizance bond or who require conditions added to their surety bond(s);
Reviews daily jail population report to determine inmates who may qualify for release on personal bond;
Contacts defendants of court dates by phone, in person or by other electronic means; documents and tracks relevant data;
Supports the department’s mission of enhancing public safety, court appearance and the efficient and effective use of the jail pretrial;
Appears regularly in court and presents to judges regarding defendant supervision performance, PR bonds, or other court-related matters;
Identifies, screens, interviews and verifies information provided by defendants and processes defendants for release; prepares bond release forms for approval by the courts;
Maintains a high level of honesty, integrity and ethics both on and off duty, complying with all county and department policies; remains arrest-free and complies with local, state and federal laws or ordinances;
Maintains a positive team atmosphere and works well with others; participates in team building exercises and nurtures positive relationships with colleagues and coworkers;
Attends and participates in meetings, trainings, orientations and information sessions;
Motivates and works with employees to correct deficiencies;
Assists with managing the career development and performance of staff assigned;
Meets with management staff to identify and resolve problems;
Provides training and instructions on various equipment and provides guidance and training to equipment operators;
Maintains confidentiality;
Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field;
Substitutes, if assigned, for immediate supervisor or coworkers during temporary absences by performing delegated duties sufficient to maintain continuity of normal operations;

Other Important Duties*
Performs other duties as assigned.
Travels to and from court, and other collateral travel with little or no notice, as assigned.
Works irregular hours, including weekends.
As members of the County of El Paso Emergency Response System, all El Paso County employees are designated as Disaster Service Workers during a proclaimed emergency and may be required to train on emergency response and/or perform certain emergency services at the direction of their supervisor.
Summary of Position
The CJC Court Liaison, Senior under supervision assists with procurement work placing and expediting orders for diversified goods within established guidelines and timeframe. This designation is distinguished from the CJC Court Liaison classification by greater work complexity and a broader range of work activities. As a lead the incumbent makes decisions and is responsible for assisting with scheduling and overseeing the daily operations of the division. The incumbent provides support services to ensure compliance with conditions of their release.
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of: supervisory techniques; court processes and procedures, legal terminology; the principles and practices of effective customer service; English usage, grammar, punctuation and spelling; techniques for effective interpersonal communications; modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment to include Windows and Microsoft based products.
Skill/Ability to: schedule, supervise, train and assist in evaluating assigned staff; learn the organization, procedures and operating details of the County department to which assigned; prepare and maintain appropriate records and general reports; verify and cross check files and data; understand and carry out both oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; must maintain appropriate courtroom demeanor; maintain confidentiality of information; prepare clear and concise reports; and establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted during the course of work; time management; operate personal computer using standard office operating software and general office equipment; maintain filing systems; bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred; Pass a Criminal Background Check;
