RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversees the investigation, development, and design of a variety of stormwater projects.
- Reviews studies, reports, plans and specifications for proposed stormwater management projects.
- Works with unincorporated residents Countywide to resolve localized drainage concerns.
- Resolves issues or problems that may arise during the planning, design, or construction of a project.
- Oversees work performed by consultants or assigned staff on a wide variety of projects.
- Oversees a variety of stormwater management and drainage construction projects.
- Provides leadership and technical support to Civil Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Stormwater Maintenance Crew in daily work assignments and reviewing work completed.
- Represents the County with governmental jurisdictions, consultants and the general public on engineering matters.
- Ensures that proposed improvements are locally coordinated.
- Preparation of various documents for the procurement of consultant services and public bids.
- Prepares written correspondence or gives presentations to various municipalities or County Board Committees.
- Other duties as assigned by the Stormwater Management Department.
Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional civil engineering experience
- Must possess an active registration as an Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.). Candidates with an out-of-state Professional Engineer license must be able to transfer their license to Illinois within 6 months of employment
- Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois Driver’s license
