Responsibilities:
- Supervises the work of subordinate personnel engaged in the maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, and water distribution systems.
- Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
- Oversees the inspection of all water and wastewater equipment, water towers, metering stations, water and wastewater facilities and ensures the proper preventative and corrective maintenance of all facilities.
- Ensures all employees are equipped with necessary equipment, tools, parts and safety equipment to properly maintain all facilities.
- Coordinates the corrective and preventative maintenance with the operations groups and various facilities; prioritizes and schedules work.
- Assists in budget preparation for all personnel, commodities, contractual, and capital expenses.
- Develops and maintains short and long term plans for the maintenance of all facilities including replacement of major equipment and future capital projects.
- Ensures administrative record keeping and report maintenance on an on-going basis (e.g. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), & IEPA reporting).
- Ensures wastewater treatment is carried out in accordance with specified environmental protection regulations and standards. Keeps abreast of changing regulatory issues.
- Reviews and provides input and comments on plans and specifications for capital projects and approves submittals.
- Develops specifications for bids and E-Quotes for equipment and contractual activities.
- Oversees construction projects and approves pay requests.
- Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the maintenance, construction and rehabilitation of wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, and water distribution systems
Five (5) years in a supervisory role
A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.

Salary : $135,000 - $140,000
