What are the responsibilities and job description for the Income Maintenance Supervisor - Medicaid Supervisor position at County of Dare?
Performs difficult skilled human support work supervising the activities of a unit providing income maintenance services, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Income Maintenance Administrator. Continuous oversight is exercised over all personnel within the team.
- Assists caseworkers with policy questions and technical questions.
- Coordinates with other County agencies, medical providers, and pharmacies to resolve issues.
- Assists clients and the public with questions regarding public assistance programs.
- Processes applications and recertifications for FNS, Medicaid and Work First/Cash Assistance as needed.
- Reviews and interprets daily reports for pending applications and productivity.
- Directs the work of caseworkers associated with income maintenance programs.
- Provides support and oversight for eligibility and enrollment processes including intake, acceptance, eligibility determination, outputs, on-going case management, and custody service.
- Completes eligibility and enrollment processes in NC Fast for Medicaid and Food and Nutrition Services.
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of public assistance.
- Thorough knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of forms, documents, and procedures in determining eligibility.
- Ability to analyze facts and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
- Ability to delegate authority and to plan, train supervise technical work.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, and the public.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Considerable experience in related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Valid driver’s license.
