What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Service Aide position at County of Dare?
Performs human support work providing in-home services to senior citizens and the disabled, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the In-Home Service Aide Supervisor.
- Provides clients with all needed personal care and home management tasks.
- Ensures clients’ safety and well-being; monitors vital signs such as weight, blood pressure, temperature, and heart rates.
- Transports clients to appointments and essential errands.
- Communicates changes to supervisor, social workers, and nurses.
- Completes timesheets, day sheets, and vehicle logs.
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Some knowledge of basic personal health care methods.
- Ability to read and carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to work with older adults.
- Ability to work with people from all socio-economic levels.
- Ability to move and/or assist clients in movement.
- Ability to carry out health aid work in the home of a client and perform homemaker duties.
- Ability to practice sound hygiene and sanitation techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- North Carolina Certificated Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Valid driver’s license.
