- Assist department staff with daily operations and assigned projects
- Conduct research, gather data, and prepare reports or presentations
- Provide administrative support including filing, document preparation, scheduling, and data entry
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
- Assist with customer service and communication efforts as appropriate
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Follow County policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conducting legal research on questions arising under the Virginia Code, the Code of Culpeper County, and applicable federal law
- Drafting memoranda, correspondence, ordinances, resolutions, and other written work productunder the supervision of the County Attorney’s Office
- Reviewing contracts and supporting procurement matters
- Assisting with FOIA requests and records management
- Observing Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, and other public meetings, as well as court proceedings as appropriate
- Organizing case files and supporting trial and hearing preparation
- Otherprojects asassigned, tailored where possible to the intern's interests

- Undergraduate juniors, seniors, and rising seniors enrolled in a four-year program, particularly those pursuing pre-law, political science, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field
- Current 1L, 2L, and 3L students in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current enrollment in technical program, college, or graduate program; or recent graduate within the past 12 months
- Interest in public service, local government, or related career field
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computerproficiencyincluding Microsoft Office or related software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
