Senior Engineer
The County of Chesterfield is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Development Section of the Department of Utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the impacts of proposed developments on the existing water and wastewater systems.
- Review site and subdivision construction plans, zoning requests, and other community development applications for compliance with county specifications, state, and federal requirements.
- Evaluate water distribution and wastewater collection systems using field data and standard engineering practices supplemented with computer hydraulic modeling.
- Prepare and review reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and contracts.
- Interact with the public and collaborate with other agencies, consulting firms, and internal/external customers.
- Host or attend meetings with presentations.
- Use Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping software to answer public inquiries and collect and interpret system data.
- Train to use Innovyze (Infowater) to run hydraulic flow tests, both static and dynamic, of the county water system to provide information for internal and external customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries about extending or connecting to the county water and wastewater systems.
- Perform other work as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- Three years of experience in professional engineering.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
