The Scheduler position for the Office of Community Transit is responsible for timely and accurate completion of scheduling tasks to include processing of: Subscription Trip Requests; Out-of-County rides; the Daily Driver Schedule; and Dialysis Center Requests. The individual in this position will use a Shared Ride Software System to perform all tasks. This individual must be detail oriented and possess critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve issues or problems. The Scheduler position is responsible for a variety of functions and is expected to be able to focus and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Completes Daily Driver Schedule using linked Excel spreadsheets ensuring drivers, runs, vehicles, and times are listed accurately and related information in Shared Ride Software System is correct.
• Using Shared Ride Software System, enters data in efficient and timely manner for New Subscriptions, Changes to Subscriptions, or Subscription Cancellations.• Creates Trip Groups to or from the same destination for efficiency using Shared Ride Software System and Google Maps or Google Earth.
• Follows out of county ride checklist and guidelines to process out of county rides in a timely and efficient manner. Manually maps out routes as needed and enters information accurately into Shared Ride Software System.
• Works with Customer Service and Dialysis Centers to ensure clients are accurately scheduled and transportation needs are met.• Monitors and corrects problem trips.
• Contributes effective communications within the organization by establishing and maintaining open communication lines with all staff members.• Keeps management and staff informed of critical information needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitors paratransit operating practices and procedures to ensure compliance with the Chester County Department of Community Transit's procedures and guidelines.
• Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.Qualifications / Requirements:

- One or more years of job-related experience, especially in a Transit Scheduling or Dispatch setting.
- General knowledge and understanding of County of Chester policies and procedures
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
- Intermediate Office Suite Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Explorer)
- Intermediate Outlook skills (Email and Calendar)
- Intermediate TEAMS skills
- Ability to learn and use all available technologies and databases, such as a Shared Ride Software System, to complete scheduling tasks
- Prior experience with Scheduling or Dispatch Software is preferred
While performing the duties of this position, an individual is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear and climb stairs. Occasionally, an individual will need to bend at the waist while working, reach or work with arms above shoulders, kneel, stoop, crouch or squat.
