The Librarian is responsible for providing library materials to Chester County residents that will enhance personal growth and development, and reflect popular culture and current trends.

- Provide general reference and advisory services.
- Complete assigned projects that support the library's annual goals and objectives.
- Assist supervisor with daily operations and provide reports, as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the library's database.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pennsylvania State Library Certificate.
- One year of job-related library experience.
- Broad-based reference experience.
- General knowledge of library science.
- Knowledge of the use of review sources.
- Working knowledge of the American Library Association Library Bill of Rights.
- Working knowledge of the Educational Film Library Association Freedom to View Statement.
- Working knowledge of "Holds Procedures".
- Required to participate in continuing education workshops, seminars and conferences as needed to keep current in the field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
- Strong commitment to customer service.

Salary : $27
