- POSITION SUMMARY**:
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Receives and handles consumer complaints in person and on the telephone.
- Answers telephone inquiries, advises consumers and data enters complaints in computer.
- Gathers information for Director for educational and consumer programs.
- Monitors consumer programs in the media; works with other agencies; and assists with displays and consumer education efforts as assigned.
- Prepares input to weekly "Troubleshooter" column.
- Maintains daily and monthly reports, assists in mailing information to the consumer and prepares information to be used in exhibits.
- Gives occasional speeches to public groups.
- Personally investigates on-site consumer complaints as assigned.
- Represents the Director at meetings and conferences in his/her absence.
- Operates office equipment such as personal computer, facsimile machine and copier.
- May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job. More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

- High school diploma or equivalent. College or further education helpful, especially in mediation area.
- Good computer skills.
- Possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work effectively with the public.
- Some knowledge of business English, spelling and the ability to make arithmetic computations accurately and at a reasonable speed.
