- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- This is routine clerical work assisting in a variety of areas in a Child Welfare Agency office. Employee will perform routine and repetitive work with personnel job duties. Work would include familiarity with current staff complement. Work includes the keeping of simple clerical records and may include incidental receptionist work. Employee works under general supervision and refers difficult problems to a supervisor.
- Answers routine non-technical questions and refers other questions to proper person.
- Position requires some knowledge of good English usage and grammar. Ability to remember accurately, within a reasonable amount of training time, the names and locations of personnel and units and to understand essential departmental operations. Ability to keep simple clerical records accurately.
- Prepare daily sign sheets, make any necessary changes and keep updated copies for daily use.
- Assist with preparation of personnel related forms for Bucks County Human Resources.
- Assist with data entry into the Lawson Personnel system and BCCYSSA data system.
- Assist with the ongoing changing and updating of personnel information/paperwork.
- Assist with receiving and responding to inquiries about employment at BCCYSSA.
- Assist in maintaining file of applicants for positions at BCCYSSA.
- Assist in maintaining files of current and past employees at BCCYSSA.
- Receive, sort and date stamp all incoming mail.
- Document with a log book all checks received through the mail.
- Receive and sort and distribute all incoming faxes. Operates office machines such as computer and fax machine under conditions of work which don't require any familiarity in use.
- Maintain fax machine -- fill with paper, change cartridges, etc.
- Assist with special projects or large mailings with sorting, collating and preparing envelopes for mailing.
- Maintain daily conference room schedules and post on doors.
- Keep employee mailboxes up to date.
- Proofreads typed materials to insure the transfer of information is grammatically and typographically correct, complete, and adheres to agency rules and regulations.
- Assists clerical staff as needed with data entry and light typing.
- Serves as backup in the absence of switchboard operator, which involves greeting, announcing and directing visitors and giving non-technical information.
- Performs related work as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Six (6) months as a Clerk I and educational development to the level of the eight grade; or completion of a high school business curriculum; or any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge and abilities.
