POSITION SUMMARY:
This at-will position will be filled by an experienced attorney responsible for litigating complex criminal and civil enforcement matters, including but not limited to consumer protection, environmental protection, worker protection, corruption, white collar, and appellate litigation in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly take on specialized and complicated legal issues in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts long term investigations of complex matters, utilizing grand jury, motions practice, and covert surveillance as necessary and appropriate.
- Performs legal research and prepares legal briefs and memoranda of law.

Based on the needs of the office, pursues justice in developing practice areas including, but not limited to:
- Investigating and prosecuting civil enforcement actions under the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and other applicable law, including affirmative litigation.
- Investigating and prosecuting cases of misclassification and other prosecutions related to worker protection.
- Investigating and prosecuting environmental protection cases under the Clean Streams Law and other applicable law.
- Works with county and municipal investigators in the investigation of criminal and civil matters as assigned.
- Handles various trials, pre-trial motions, and hearings, including preliminary hearings throughout the county.
- May be required to work on-call night shifts and on weekends to assist police officers in investigations, screening cases, legal issues related to criminal investigations, and approval of search warrants and court orders.
- Performs similar or related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Juris Doctor degree.
- Pennsylvania bar admission.
- A minimum of four years of progressively advancing experience in the legal field is required.
- Substantial litigation experience is preferred.
- Current, active driver’s license.
