We're hiring an Estimator to join County Materials in Westmont, IL.
Job Summary:
The Estimator will be responsible for estimating duties, which include recording precast concrete material types and quantities, preparing accurate cost estimates based upon company standards and guidelines, writing proposals and qualifications that are job-specific, and submitting cost estimates for bidding while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects and/or services.
- Maintain files and communication with stakeholders, teams, and customers.
- Perform quantity take-offs for concrete materials and labor, ensuring all necessary components are accounted for in the estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and accuracy of estimates.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align estimates with project goals and budgets. Maintain changes to original requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Recommend ways to make a product more cost-effective or profitable.
- Develop updated costs for current jobs under contract.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and suggest cost-effective alternatives to enhance project efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications: (Required or Preferred)
Education:
- 4-year college degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 2-3years' experiencein commercial concrete estimating or a related role in heavy industrialmanufacturing. Preferredproject and industry-relatedexperienceinprecastandprestress.
Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skillsand a collaborative teamplayerwith all levels of the business.
