Job title: SHIPPING & RECEIVING TECHNICIAN
Directly Reports to: SHIPPING RECEIVING WORKING FOREMAN
Indirectly Reports to: PRODUCTION CONTROLLER
Purpose/Function:
The Shipping & Receiving Technician’s position will function as the working person in the shipping department. They will perform all work associated with receiving orders, raw materials and supplies and distributing them appropriately. They will also perform formal shipping of outgoing products and materials at the facility on company trucks or other forms of transportation. Lastly, this person will perform steps necessary to inventory materials in or out of the facility and the administrative work associated with this function. To be successful, this person will work according to all identified quality, health, safety, and environmental policies established at CHT.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Shipping & Receiving Technician will perform duties routinely, efficiently, and effectively to help achieve the high quality of product required and administer the business organization and objectives as follows:
Transport materials manually or with lift transportation to desired areas in facility.
Load and offload vehicles manually or with lift transportation.
Ship packages and chemicals in or out of the facility to various destinations.
Process administrative duties associated with inventory and work in process.
Complete all regular OSHA or certification training in a timely manner.
May perform other various facility duties specific to the facility’s needs as required by management such as cleaning, maintenance, or administrative duties as they occur or when needed to temporarily replace other employees.
Qualifications:
Must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for this work:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
English proficient for document/sign reading and oral communication with associates.
Drug/Alcohol addiction free.
Preferable experience in manufacturing environment with Powered Industrial Vehicles.
Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively for up to 4 hours per day.
Proficient computer data entry skills.
Working conditions:
Heavy manufacturing environment- Moderate to high temperature fluctuations, and industrial work setting. Employee required to work standard 8-hour shifts with overtime as legally required. May be asked to work varying shifts or weekends as required.
