What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Maintenance position at County Golf Course?
Provide daily maintenance and preparation of a local public golf course in St. Johns County under the supervision and direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Performs general grounds maintenance tasks using specialized golf course machinery:
- Mow Greens, Tees, Fairways and Roughs.
- Cleans and greases machinery after each use.
- Reports machinery/equipment problems to immediate supervisor.
- Edge, Trim and Rake Bunkers. -Change pins and move tee markers.
- Operates aerators, seeders and spreaders.
- Cleans and services water coolers on course. -Cleans and maintains restrooms.
- Edges cart paths and sidewalks.
- Trims trees and hedges and removes cuttings.
- Repairs irrigation system.
- Rakes leaves and removes debris.
- Hand waters turfgrass when necessary.
- Performs other maintenance related duties as assigned.
This is not an inclusive list; other duties, qualifications, knowledge, skills may be assigned. This is a full time contract position.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have good communication skills; ability to read and write using the English language.
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
- Must be dependable.-Must be able to lift loads up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic and safe equipment operations and preventative maintenance.
