What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant position at Countryside Veterinary Clinic?
We are looking to add a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to our team. We cross train and responsibilities would include assisting/weekend kennels, but primary focus would be reception during weekdays and Saturday mornings.
**all employees are required to work 1-2 holiday kennels a year
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival at the clinic.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Assist veterinary staff with medication administration and animal catheterization when needed.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming for clients.
- Provide information on animal husbandry, care, and preventive health measures to pet owners.
- Support the team in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the clinic environment.
- Feeding, bathing, and exercising animals as needed (weekend kennels)
- Assisting veterinarians and vet technicians
Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or similar environment
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary critical care practices
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective client interaction.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
