Position Summary:

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all electrical equipment, instrumentation, and motors at the refinery.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

* Maintain refinery instrumentation.

* Verify that electrical medium and low voltage protective devices are operating safely.

* Locate electrical malfunctions within refinery power distribution system and associated equipment.

* Safely make repairs to malfunctioning electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

* Demonstrate effective troubleshooting tactics.

* Familiar with installing, programming, and troubleshooting VFD’s (variable frequency drive).

* Install, upgrade, and maintain all electrical equipment in accordance with CountryMark’s planned maintenance system and manufacturers’ specifications.

* Ensure the regular preventative maintenance activities for motors, instrumentation and other equipment is performed as work orders are issued.

* Able to utilize electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting purposes on instrumentation and electrical equipment.

* Familiar with using HART communicator to troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation.

* Familiar with various types of instrumentation such as but not limited to pressure, temperature, differential pressure, and guided wave radar.

* Prepare and submit daily paperwork, permits, safety, and incident reports to comply with CountryMark requirements.

* Maintain Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) equipment and battery testing to ensure power system will work when needed.


Job Qualifications (refers to job, not incumbent):

Education: High School Diploma required. Associate’s degree, certification, training, or apprenticeship in related field preferred.

Experience: 3-4 years of Electrical Maintenance experience in an industrial setting. May have to be in fresh air gear from time to time. Must be able to pass a fit test.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations: Employee must have valid driver’s license if operating a company vehicle or their own vehicle for work purposes. 


Other:

* Demonstrate good judgment, decision making, and command and control skills to thoughtfully operate the electrical systems as required to troubleshoot components or systems during off normal and emergency conditions.

* Requires independent judgment and strong personal integrity.

* Ability to learn proactively in varied settings from others, and reactively from personal or team mistakes.

* Ability to manage own time efficiently.

* Knowledge of basic electrical diagnostic equipment for AC and DC service up to 600 V.

* Must adhere to company policies, safe work practices and work requirements, including lock- out/tag-out requirements.

* Ability to identify and correct electrical deficiencies in systems and equipment.

* General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations/requirements.

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

* Flexibility and the capacity to handle wide range of situations and personalities.

* Must be organized and have the ability to adhere to priorities and deadlines.

* Must be able to accommodate callouts as needed.

* Must maintain focus on the task at hand during an equipment emergency.

* Have the drive and motivation to learn.

* Must have a positive attitude and be a fast learner.
