JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the day to day operations and work closely with the Store Manager.
- Supervision of the store to ensure that operations run smoothly & efficiently, with a focus on feed and hardware but abilities to assist in all areas of the Valders Convenience/Country Store
- Assists in human resource functions for store staff including selection, training, enforcement of policies and procedures, performance management, development, scheduling, and team building
- Performs daily workstation assignments along with supervisory duties
- Assists store manager in administrative activities such as: managing inventory, ordering products, preparing deposits, and maintaining financials and labor records
- Maintain accuracy in record keeping, inventory, and financials
- Assist with sales and purchasing
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidate needs to have a minimum of two years proven experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry and a minimum of one year proven supervisory experience.
The candidate must also possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
- Strong operational skills in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coach and develop Team Members
- Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with Team Members and guests
- Proven ability to gain the respect and trust of direct reports
- Effectively handle and manage confidential and sensitive information
- Knowledge of animal feeds and their uses
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods up to 8 (eight) hours in length
