Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment in accordance with health standards
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to promote safe transfers and mobility
- Engage residents or clients in social activities to foster mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in medication administration or behavior management are advantageous
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record keeping
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driver’s license preferred for driving responsibilities related to home & community care
