- Greet and interact with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Oversee and coordinate shipping, receiving and delivery activities performed by warehouse personnel.
- Manage paper flow and safety programs.
- Complete customer orders by loading and unloading products as needed.
- Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.
- Assemble products and displays.
- Safely and regularly make deliveries, visit various worksites, other businesses or customer locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.).
- Dispense propane and/or kerosene.
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain the overall general upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area.
- Serve as a safety liaison between personnel and management.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Three (3) years’ directly supervising personnel or equivalent internal retail experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license (or 18 years of age with a valid commercial driver’s license) to operate a commercial motor vehicle (10,001 lbs. GVWR).
- Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
- Be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails
- Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
- Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Experience working in a warehouse and/or retail setting.
- Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
- Experience safely dispensing propane cylinders, operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
SCHEDULE
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
$19.00 – $25.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
