Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet and consult customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
- Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers’ needs
- Answer customer questions about merchandise and assist with purchase decisions
- Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures
- Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
- Stock and rotate product
- Assist in keeping the store clean
- Assemble and organize products and displays
- Assist customers with loading and unloading products as needed
- Process returns and exchanges
- Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales-generating skills
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills
- Collaborate, communicate well, and effectively relay information with an emphasis on positive professional relationships
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, and kneel frequently
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Product knowledge preferred in one or more of: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies
Schedule
Part-time, onsite position based in Colville, WA; 16–32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
