The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. The company was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934. We have grown and developed into four business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. Our Country Stores provide quality goods and services for all “Farm-Pet-Home” needs! We operate multiple locations in Washington state and Stevensville, MT.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and interact with customers.
- Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale.
- Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs.
- Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills.
- Accurately complete sales using the point-of-sale system according to established procedures.
- Process returns and exchanges.
- Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, accurate and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation.
- Assist customers by loading and unloading products as needed.
- Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.
- Assemble products and displays.
- Safely perform propane dispenser operations.
- Safely operate a forklift and pallet jack.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
- Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds.
- Have a proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Commitment to excellence especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a retail setting.
- Product knowledge preferred in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
$17.25 – $19.80/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
