What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sausage Maker Assistant / Meat Cutter position at Country Meat Shop?
Due to unprecedented , rapid growth in our business, we are expanding our team to match our increased market demand. We're a small, hands-on meat processing shop with state of the art equipment that takes pride in our cured and smoked meats which have earned state, national, and international awards for quality and flavor. We take pride in our craft and are looking for a reliable, hands-on team member to help us keep the tradition going. This is a mixed role where you'll help with everything from cutting meat for the retail case, to making smoked and cooked products like sausage, bacon, ham, hotdogs, and bologna. You’ll also help clean equipment and pitch in at the retail counter when needed.
No slaughter work involved, but we do process deer during hunting season.

- Cutting and prepping meat for our retail case
- Helping make smoked and cooked items (sausages, bacon, ham, etc.)
- Packaging and labeling products
- Cleaning equipment and work areas
- Helping with seasonal deer processing (no slaughter)=
- Comfortable handling raw meat
- Running and operating meat equipment
- Able to lift 50 up to 100 lbs and stand for long periods
- Food safety knowledge is a bonus
- Positive attitude and team player
- Some meat cutting or food prep experience is a plus—but we can train the right person
- Pitching in wherever needed—small shop teamwork!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,500.00 - $60,000.00 per year
