- Responsible for preparing monthly journal entries for multiple legal entities to ensure proper accounting of revenue and expenses for assigned facilities.
- Conduct related general ledger closing activities to ensure the deadlines of financial reporting are met, and all accounting and reporting activities are performed in accordance with the accounting policies and/or financial procedures of the company.
- Prepares monthly financials, which includes generating and reviewing financial statements, comparing actual to budget, and investigating/explaining variances, analyzing key accounts, identifying unusual transactions, verifying accuracy of reserves and accruals, follow-up and reviewing with management, preparing adjusting journal entries, and ensuring accuracy of the financial statements.
- Maintains fixed asset database including adding new assets or disposals to the system, and running reports as needed.
- Distributes financials to senior management and executive directors, and answers any questions that arise.
- Digitally archives monthly financial reports for permanent records.
- Performs monthly account reconciliations along with supporting schedules for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll withholdings, suspense, fixed assets, construction in progress (CIP), intercompany transactions, prepaid invoices, co-worker loans, payroll accruals, etc.
- Prepares facilities for year-end and preliminary audit by analyzing financial reports and adjusting accounts as necessary, and provides documentation for the annual audit for assigned facilities.
- Assist and prepare annual budget templates for assigned legal entities for senior management.
- Education: Must have minimum of high school diploma or GED. Accounting or Business Degree is preferred, or a minimum of two years college level business and accounting related course work. Must be able to communicate the English language effectively both orally and in writing, and comprehend the same.
- Experience: Position requires 1-3 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience. Strong technology skills are required; experience with current accounting software is preferred and must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office products. Prior experience in multi-entity healthcare accounting environment is a plus.
- Ability to identify problems, secure relevant data, relate data from different sources, and identify possible causes of problems.
- Ability to self-manage time and work priorities in order to successfully accomplish tasks.
- Must have a willingness to cooperate and work as part of a team.
- Well organized and detail oriented, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong ability to multi-task, excellent customer service skills, dependable, and follow through skills are a must.
