Duties
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and preparing tiles and flooring materials according to project specifications and technical drawings
- Support the installation of various flooring types such as tile, hardwood and vinyl using hand tools and power tools
- Learn to interpret construction plans, and blueprints to ensure accurate placement and alignment of flooring materials
- Help with surface preparation tasks including floor refinishing, water damage restoration prep, and surface leveling for proper installation
- Aid in caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and other finishing tasks to ensure a polished final look
- Contribute to restoration projects by assisting with floor care and general remodeling activities
Requirements
- Basic understanding of construction estimating and familiarity with building plans
- Experience or interest in construction site work, blueprint reading, or remodeling projects is advantageous
- Ability to use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, saws, and caulking guns.
- Willingness to learn how to operate power tools used in flooring installation and building material handling
- Strong manual handling skills with the physical ability to lift heavy materials
- Prior handyman experience or carpentry background is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Commitment to adhering to safety standards related to flooring installation and construction site protocols
