Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new HVAC equipment following manufacturer specifications and HVAC design plans to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems to maximize efficiency and prevent breakdowns.
- Conduct plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting, leak repairs, and drainage troubleshooting.
- Use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters to test electrical components and ensure system integrity.
- Weld or perform mechanical repairs on equipment when necessary to restore functionality swiftly.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs for accountability and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with strong mechanical knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC system diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC design principles, equipment repair, installation procedures, and property maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems (HVAC/R) is a plus; certification in Ammonia Refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Mechanical skills including welding, boiler operation, appliance repair, and general maintenance work.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating
driver vehicles preferred. - Knowledge of field service procedures with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently in diverse environments.
