What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Kennel Technician position at Country Lane Kennel?
Country Lane Kennel was born from the love we have for animals. We have had animals all our lives. As we have traveled ourselves, we understand how important it is to have the peace of mind knowing that our pets (a part of our family) are properly cared for in a safe, clean environment. We provide plenty of room, no cages, a climate-controlled environment, music, and T.V. for the dogs. Our boarding facility is in a beautiful country setting in New Carlisle.
General Accountabilities
- Works with owners to oversee the maintenance and day to day operations of kennel.
- Ensures required tasks are completed for operational effectiveness.
- Delegates daily tasks to staff.
- Communicates with clients and evaluate their needs via phone, email, and in person.
- Cover shifts when short staffed or someone is unable to come to work
- Builds client relationships.
- Cleans and disinfects kennels, sweeps, washes dishes, etc.
- Replenishes food and water supplies.
- Feeds animals according to schedules and feeding instructions.
- Exercises dogs to maintain their physical and mental health.
- Maintains schedule for kennel to ensure appropriate capacity.
- Completes exit baths.

Schedule: Split shift 5 days a week with rotating weekends and one day off during the week. Shifts are 7-11am & 4-7pm
Job Qualifications
- Education: High school or equivalent education level
- At least 1 year of kennel technician experience (boarding facility , animal shelter or veterinary hospital)

Pay: $18.00 per hour
