Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Support medication administration under supervision, monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse as needed.
- Provide companionship and social support to promote mental well-being and engagement in activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing housekeeping tasks laundry
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to meet individual dietary needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop personalized care plans.
- Follow all safety procedures including first aid protocols to respond effectively during emergencies.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or personal care homes is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated competence in caregiving roles involving assisting with ADLs and providing personal care support.
- Familiarity with long-term care environments such as retirement homes or group homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic health assessments is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of EMR systems for documentation purposes is a plus.
- Previous home & community care experience that emphasizes compassionate support for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions is valued.
