The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Wildcat dispensary while ensuring full compliance with Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis regulations and all company standards. This role owns overall store performance, including sales growth, profitability, patient experience, compliance, team leadership, and operational execution. The GM sets the tone for service, accountability, and professionalism across the dispensary and works closely with senior leadership to ensure the location operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with business goals.
In this position, the GM provides leadership and support to all store employees through hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and ongoing communication regarding policies, procedures, product knowledge, and industry developments. The GM is also expected to maintain high standards for presentation, inventory control, financial accuracy, and compassionate patient care, while building a positive, inclusive workplace culture focused on consistent service and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that each patient receives outstanding guest service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, providing solid product knowledge, and all other components of exemplary service.
· Lead all aspects of dispensary operations, ensuring the store runs efficiently, meets sales goals, and delivers an exceptional patient experience every day.
· Analyze sales trends, monitor team and individual performance, and implement action plans that improve revenue, service quality, and operational consistency.
· Recruit, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure they are knowledgeable, compliant, and aligned with Wildcat’s service standards.
· Maintain strict compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, confidentiality requirements, patient recordkeeping standards, and internal operating procedures.
· Conduct regular store meetings, one-on-ones, walkthroughs, and audits to reinforce expectations, improve accountability, and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Oversee inventory controls, including management of pre-packaged inventory, secure product movement between storage and dispensing areas, and accurate reporting.
· Manage cash handling processes including register oversight, reconciliations, deposits, reporting, and opening and closing procedures.
· Partner with senior management on performance reviews, employee development, corrective action, and strategic store initiatives.
· Ensure the dispensary remains clean, organized, professional, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.
· Stay informed on industry trends, product updates, and regulatory changes, and communicate relevant information to the team in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
· Previous experience with retail sales
· Excellent customer service skills
· Leadership ability with at least five years of experience in a retail store setting or at least five years of experience in customer-facing sales in a business solutions environment.
· Leadership and organizational abilities
· Proficient computer skills
· Ability to manage a employee’s during normal business hours in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong people and presentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Flexible working hours based on business needs and 10 hour shifts.
