Job Summary

Join our team as a Retail Clerk / Convenience Store & Food Service Associate, where you will help create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient experience for our customers. This is a versatile position that combines cashier, food preparation, stocking, and general convenience store responsibilities.

You will assist customers, operate the cash register, prepare fresh pizzas and sandwiches, slice meats and cheeses, stock merchandise, maintain a clean store, and support daily store operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, friendly, hardworking, and comfortable performing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service & Cashier

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service
• Operate the POS system and cash register accurately
• Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other payment transactions
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer
• Process returns, exchanges, and other transactions when applicable
• Assist customers with product questions and recommendations
• Answer the store phone and take customer and food orders
• Maintain professional phone etiquette
• Handle customer concerns and questions in a polite and professional manner

Pizza & Food Preparation

• Prepare fresh pizzas according to store recipes and procedures
• Take and fulfill pizza and food orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare pizza toppings, sauces, and other ingredients
• Slice meats, cheeses, and other deli ingredients using appropriate equipment
• Prepare fresh sandwiches, subs, and other made-to-order food items
• Prepare and portion meats, cheeses, vegetables, toppings, and other ingredients
• Package completed food orders properly
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe food-handling practices
• Keep the pizza, deli, and food-preparation areas clean and organized
• Clean and sanitize slicers, counters, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation surfaces
• Restock food ingredients, containers, bags, and other food-service supplies

Stocking & Store Operations

• Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and other merchandise areas
• Receive, organize, and put away new inventory
• Check expiration dates and rotate products as needed
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory counts
• Maintain organized and attractive product displays
• Ensure products are properly priced and displayed
• Keep the store, aisles, checkout area, and food areas clean and organized
• Take out trash and perform general cleaning duties
• Assist with opening and closing duties as needed
• Follow all company policies and store procedures
• Perform other general store duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous retail, convenience store, restaurant, deli, or food-service experience preferred
• Previous cashier or POS experience is a plus
• Pizza-making or food-preparation experience preferred, but training will be provided
• Experience using a meat/cheese slicer is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitary
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Must be comfortable performing a variety of duties, including cashiering, making pizzas, slicing meats, preparing sandwiches, stocking, cleaning, and assisting customers

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, friendly, and willing to learn. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, so flexibility and a positive attitude are important. No previous pizza or food-preparation experience is required if the candidate is willing to learn.

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour
