About Us:
Country Day Montessori School is seeking a passionate, nurturing and experienced Lead Primary Montessori Teacher. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey for a classroom of 3 to 6 year olds.
As the first Montessori school accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) in the nation in 1982. We offer authentic Montessori education for 18 months through 6th grade.
Our multi-acre campus provides a serene and enriching environment both in and out of the classroom. This expansive setting allows for an abundance of learning opportunities that are further strengthened within the independence of the Montessori philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages exploration, independence, and self-discovery.
- Implement Montessori principles and practices to support the holistic development of each child.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, lessons, and experiences that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among children, parents, and fellow educators.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom conducive to learning and exploration.
- Observe and assess each child's progress, interests, and individual needs, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
Qualifications:
- Montessori certification (AMS, AMI or MACTE-accredited program) for Primary level (3-6 years old).
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Montessori setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
