Scope: Works directly with residents. Has contact and interaction with families and visitors as well as other disciplines.
General Function:
Performs basic nursing care, routine general duties in a safe manner while providing resident care under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse after completion of the training program established by the Director of Nursing.
Duties and Responsibilities; Receives assignments, checks resident schedule for the day or shift;• Gives routine care to residents. This includes proper bathing, good oral care, care of dentures, shampoos when necessary, shaves, hair and nail care, and proper dressing of resident; Makes beds, sets room in order; Checks diet trays with diet orders before serving, serving trays, helps food resident as necessary and removes trays when residents are finished; Assist with, or gives personal care after meal; If residents are able to eat in the dining room, transports residents to the dining room and supervises them while in the dining room; Changes linens whenever necessary;•
Qualifications: High school graduate preferred or work experience, preferable in a resident care situation.'
