Expo/Food Runner

SUMMARY: Responsible for meeting and exceeding Member expectations by providing warm, friendly, professional service at all times while providing food and beverage service in the dining room, banquettes, bar and patio.

• Demonstrates prompt and efficient in work habits.
• Clocks in and out as scheduled, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor for immediate correction.
• Reports to Supervisor before leaving the floor for break, employee meal, or end of shift.
• Presents acceptable appearance, particularly with respect to dress and cleanliness in accordance with the Employee Policy Manual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food & Beverage Responsibilities:

• Ensures that the highest level of guest service is provided; controls food and beverage quality and presentation.
• Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, presentation, and prices.
• Verifies accuracy of items and prices on tickets, presents the bill to Members in a timely manner
• Assists in serving meals; places dishes correctly by courses in front of each person.
• Clears used plates, flatware and glasses from tables in the dining room, bar, lobby, patio and men’s and ladies’ lounges in a timely manner and brings them to the dishwashing area.
• Cleans and dusts chairs and tables before and after each use.
• Sets tables after use with silverware, glassware, and any other dishes.
• Cleans dining room floors as needed.
• Stocks server station with necessary supplies.
• Collects trash from dining room, bar and other specified areas after each serving period.
• Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of the dining room, banquet room, patio, bar and their appropriate fixtures, furniture and equipment.
• Ensures correct handling procedures to minimize china, glassware and food waste.
• Assures that all side work is accomplished and all cleaning of appropriate equipment and storage areas is completed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Cross-training as needed.
• Processing payments (Cash, Credit, debit), handling receipts, making change accurately, and balancing cash at end of shift.

Event Responsibilities:

• Be available for special parties and banquets.
• Assist in setup of events including layout of event, event preparation, service execution, event cleanup, etc.
• Responsible for the appearance and setup of the facility before the start of each event.

Member Responsibilities:

• Greets members by name and guests.
• Maintains a high profile with Membership.

· Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times when interacting with members, guests, and fellow staff members.

· Exhibits a respectful and discreet presence within the club, understanding and adhering to the club's social norms and customs.

· Understands and strictly adheres to the club's policies and procedures, including those related to member conduct, guest privileges, and operational protocols.

• Helps to promote and market the Club’s social events and facilities to all Members.
• Addresses member and guest complaints, bring to appropriate supervisor

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and basic food preparation techniques
• Strong communication skills to coordinate smoothly with team members and serve guests effectively
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform heavy lifting safely
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
• Experience with banquet service or hotel hospitality environments is advantageous
• A positive attitude with excellent customer service skills to enhance guest experiences
