Description
The Lead Server is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and upholding the highest hospitality standards at Plaza Provisions. This role involves leading by example on the floor, training and developing staff, managing scheduling, and assisting with opening and closing procedures. The Lead Server also serves as the primary point of contact between the service team and management.

Reports to: Director of Outlets
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management
- Hire, train, mentor, and coach servers, hosts, and support staff to maintain a high-performing team.
- Create, manage, and adjust staff schedules to meet business demands and labor targets.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review daily specials, menu changes, events, and service expectations.
- Monitor performance and provide feedback to ensure service standards are met.
Service & Guest Experience
- Lead service on the floor during shifts, providing hands-on support and resolving guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Ensure all guests receive prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of the food, beverage, and wine programs to assist guests with selections and pairings.
- Oversee table assignments and monitor the flow of service for maximum efficiency.
Operations & Administration
- Perform opening and closing duties, including securing cash drawers, side work completion, and end-of-day reporting.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the dining room and service stations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and efficient order flow.
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering of front-of-house supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Training & Development
- Develop and update training materials for new hires and ongoing staff education.
- Conduct service training sessions to maintain consistent standards.
- Mentor team members to advance their skills and promote internal growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of serving experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant.
- Prior supervisory or lead server experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food Handler’s Permit and responsible alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
Pay Rate: $15/hour tips
