Description
As a Host at Plaza Provisions, you set the tone for the guest experience from the moment they walk through the door. You are the first point of contact, greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout the dining room. This role requires exceptional hospitality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and friendly in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Plaza Provisions – Country Club Plaza, Kansas City, MO
Reports to: Director of Outlets
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, creating an inviting first impression.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in seating using the Toast Tables system.
- Communicate seating availability and timing clearly to guests and the service team.
- Maintain an organized and clean host stand and entry area.
- Provide guests with menus and any relevant dining information.
- Coordinate with servers, bussers, and managers to optimize table turns and guest flow.
- Assist with answering phones, taking messages, and handling inquiries.
- Support special events and large parties by assisting with guest flow and seating arrangements.
- Uphold Plaza Provisions’ hospitality standards and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous host, hostess, or front desk experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems (Toast Tables experience a plus).
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Compensation:
- $15/hour plus tip-out
