Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to lead our shipping and warehouse distribution operations. In this vital role, you will oversee daily shipping activities, manage inventory control processes, and ensure efficient materials handling. Your leadership will drive process improvements, maintain safety standards, and support our team in delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Duties
- Supervise all shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods
- Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms
- Coordinate warehouse distribution operations, including materials handling and heavy lifting tasks with forklift certification
- Implement process improvements to optimize shipping workflows and reduce errors
- Manage team members’ performance, provide training on warehouse safety protocols including OSHA standards, and foster a collaborative work environment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and OSHA guidelines during all warehouse activities
- Oversee 3PL (third-party logistics) providers to streamline logistics operations and maintain high service levels
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or logistics management within a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse distribution, and materials handling techniques
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification required or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment is a plus
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and promote safety awareness
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices in warehouse safety
- Experience working within e-commerce or heavy shipping & receiving environments is preferred
