Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer - Associate to join our procurement team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and inventory control to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Your expertise in procurement systems and materials management will drive efficiency and support our commitment to delivering top-tier products and services.
Duties
- Collaborate with vendors to source materials, negotiate prices, and secure favorable terms using procurement software such as SAP, JD Edwards, or Oracle EBS
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials aligned with production schedules and inventory needs
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor communications using spreadsheets and accounting software
- Monitor inventory levels through inventory management systems like AS400 or MRP to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Coordinate logistics and transportation arrangements to optimize supply chain flow and reduce costs
- Conduct data analysis on Excel for purchasing trends, pricing strategies, and supplier performance metrics
- Support sourcing initiatives by evaluating supplier options and assisting in direct negotiation procurement processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing management within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or similar platforms
- Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management principles
- Excellent vendor communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build lasting relationships
- Proficiency in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets, and other Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to support contracts negotiations and manage procurement processes efficiently
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and production planning tools is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
