Job Overview
Counselman Automotive Recycling is seeking a reliable, motivated Salvage Yard Operations Associate to support daily operations throughout the yard. This position is designed for a versatile individual who can assist in multiple areas, including customer service at the parts counter, inventory, quality control, returns, backup delivery driving and other areas as needed. The ideal candidate must be dependable with a desire to learn.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist customers walk-ins and/or by phone
- Create invoices, process payments, issue returns.
- Use computer software to check inventory availability and pricing
- Prepare paperwork for upcoming deliveries
- Load, transport, and unload auto parts as needed
- Build and/or maintain good relationships with customers
- Inspect parts for accuracy, condition, and completeness
- Ensure parts meet company quality standards before sale or delivery
- Stock, label and organize parts
- Assist with inventory accuracy
- Support other departments as operational needs change
Requirements:
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Must provide a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report with no traffic violations and/or accidents in past 3 years)
- Must be able to pass a DOT Health Card physical
- Must be at least 24 years of age (required age under the company insurance policy)
- Previous experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Solution oriented problem solving skills
