The intern will be expected to perform individual, couples, or family therapy, with close supervision. This includes conducting diagnostic assessments to formulate DSM-5 diagnoses, developing and completing treatment plans to support therapeutic interventions, and appropriately documenting work with clients. The candidate must be within good standing at their current place of enrollment.Please note: This application is for our Fall2026cohort.What Youll Do:Represent Counseling Works with warmth and professionalismSupport a positive client experience at Counseling WorksProvide individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy - in-person at one or more of our locationsComplete electronic notes and current treatment plans in a timely fashionFormulate DSM-5 diagnosesParticipate in individual and group supervision with assigned supervisor, no less than 1 hour per weekSchedule & re-schedule clients for psychotherapy sessions with youManage client emergencies with support from your supervisorConsult with other providers, psychiatrists and family members when appropriateContinue to learn and grow to gain clinical expertise and skillsMaintain general tidiness of the office you are using and the common areasWhat Youll Get:Sustainable caseload with a variety of clientsOpportunities for educational advancement, career building, and community networkingA medical biller to coordinate client benefits/eligibility, collect payment and submit claimsAn intake coordinator who answers calls, schedules intake appointments, and gathers completed intake paperworkAccess to 1-on-1 direct supervision, peer mentorship program, and group consultation with other current interns and staffSupportive team environmentComfortable and well decorated office spaceEducation & Experience Requirements:Current enrollment and good standing in a graduate level program for mental health counseling, psychology, or a related field (CACREP preferred)Willing to work weekends and eveningsProficient computer skillswe use Google Docs & TherapyNotesOrganized, professional, conscientious, timely and responsible.License/ Certifications:Working towards completion of MA, MEd or MS (CACREP program preferred)Enrollment in an accredited graduate programPlease contact careers@counselingworks.com if you have any additional questions prior to applying.
