Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our clinic. This position is essential for ensuring smooth operations, assisting healthcare professionals, and delivering high-quality service to our patients. Must have phlebotomy knowledge and capability.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate coding for billing purposes.
- Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, including sterilization of equipment.
- Support emergency medicine procedures as needed in urgent situations.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessments and care plans.
- Completion of medication precertifications.
- Conducting blood draws and labs as necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, especially in psychiatric or similar fields.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and patient service protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
- Previous experience with medication precertification's.
- experience in Phlebotomy and lab proceedures.
