What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Clinician position at Counseling Associates of Claremont?
Counseling Associates is growing, and we’d love for you to grow with us! We work with individuals, couples, families, and groups who are seeking the best fit for their mental health care—and we’re looking for a Licensed Mental Health Clinician to join our Substance Use Disorder Team in our Claremont office.
If you’re searching for a workplace that values inclusivity, belonging, diversity, equity, learning, and teamwork, you’ll feel right at home here. Our culture is warm, supportive, and encouraging—where everyone is welcomed, differences are celebrated, and continuous learning is part of everyday life.
We are thrilled to connect eligible substance use disorder (SUD) treatment clinicians with the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Student Loan Repayment Program. STAR offers up to $250,000 in educational loan repayment with a full time commitment.
We know that when our clinicians thrive, our clients thrive too. That’s why we provide a safe, welcoming environment for staff and clients of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and abilities. We’re also committed to breaking down systemic barriers through intentional recruitment, training, and development programs.
Why Counseling Associates may be the right fit for you:
- A steady stream of clients ready to be matched with your expertise
- Full administrative support—intakes scheduled, billing handled, and details managed
- Flexible hours and scheduling that work for your life
- The autonomy of private practice with the backing of a strong group practice
- A diverse client population to keep your work engaging and meaningful
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- Access to leadership, medication prescribers, peer support, individual supervision, specialty supervision groups, and a diversity specialist—available weekly or as needed
What our clinicians say about working here:
- “It is a caring and supportive work environment where staff is encouraged to grow.”
- “I have the freedom to create my own schedule and practice, but I have the support of many behind me to help with billing, insurance, and scheduling details. I also have a community of counselors I can depend on for feedback and support.”
- “I get to be a therapist to my clients without hassles.”
We use Office 365 (Teams, Outlook) for seamless communication and Zoom for Healthcare to maintain strong client connections. We encourage clinicians to pursue professional interests and develop specialties that bring them joy and fulfillment.
What we’re looking for:
- Master’s or Doctoral clinical degree
- Licensed in New Hampshire as LCMHC, LMFT, LICSW, LADC, MLADC, or Psychologist
- Dedication to professional growth, clinical excellence, and ethical practice
