Substitute Teacher 

Job Location: Logan County

Position Type: Hourly

$15.29-$21.87 Hourly. Wages are based on education; a minimum of a high school education or equivalent is required. CORS pays for educational advancement for motivated individuals with a heart for service. 

Description: Collaborate with the Early Childhood Service Coordinator, Head Teacher, Family Advocate, and families, to plan and implement the Head Start educational program for preschool children to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. • Carry forth the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the agency.  
• Assist with daily operations in the center classroom, including bus monitoring and parent engagement activities.
• Ensure the safety of all children by being engaged and actively supervising the children at all times of the day.
• Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, the daily routine, small and large group times, outdoor time, and mealtime activities.
• Work a flexible schedule.
• Work with the entire team to ensure a safe, healthy, sanitary, organized, stimulating, fun learning environment.
• Assist with any paperwork that may need completed as appropriate regarding the children including data entry.
• As appropriate, generate and correctly record non-federal share hours of families and volunteers.
• Communicate all necessary information to all staff.
• Completion and reconciliation of CACFP Point of Service Meal Counts submitted on a monthly basis or weekly basis if serving infants as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Work Experience Required: Experience in early childhood education/social services preferred but will receive on-the-job training and must commit to academic completion as set forth below.

2. Education and Training: High school diploma or GED with a CDA or equivalent; or agree to be enrolled in a CORS approved accredited Child Development (CDA) program and achieve completion of CDA program within two years of start date. Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.

3. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, reach, bend, move easily and work on the floor with small children. A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.

Salary : $15 - $22
