ry:We are seeking a leader to align operations with COA strategy, mission, and values. This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the organization’s compliance program through effective performance management, internal auditing, risk mitigation, training, and quality monitori
ng.
The Manager also leads and supports clinical compliance training initiatives across COA’s Medicaid programs, including the Ohio NextGen MyCare Program and the PASSPORT Medicaid Waiver Program. This includes coordination with the Organizational Training and Development team to ensure effective onboarding, new hire training, and ongoing training support for relevant st
aff.This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to the complex web of federal, state, and local healthcare laws, regulations, and ethical standards concerning older and disabled adu
lts.
Essential Funct
ions:
Program Development & Ove
rsight• Design, implement, and maintain the organization's comprehensive compliance pr
ogram.• Develop, review and update the organization's policies, procedures, and standards of conduct to ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory and organizational require
ments.• Oversee day-to-day compliance operations, ensuring consistent adherence to the program across depart
ments.
Auditing and Mon
itoring• Conduct internal audits and monitoring activities to assess compliance with regulations and identify potential vulnerabi
lities.• Oversee external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring timely responses and corrective a
ctions.• Analyze audit outcomes and other compliance data across departments to identify recurring issues, emerging risks, and opportunities for systemic impro
vement.
Clinical Training and E
ducation• Develop and deliver training programs on compliance topics, such as HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act, to all levels o
f staff.• Cultivate a culture of compliance throughout the organization by promoting awareness and account
ability.• Provide guidance and support to departments on compliance-related issues, including during audits, investigations, and program p
lanning.
Incident Management and Re
mediation• Lead and oversee investigations into reported compliance incidents, potential violations, and audit findings, ensuring timely and thorough re
solution.• Facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) to identify underlying causes of systemic compliance issues and support sustainable remediation st
rategies.• Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to address identified compliance gaps, risks, and regulatory
concerns.
Risk
Management• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, including those related to patient safety, privacy, security, fraud,
and abuse.• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, such as enhancing security measures or updating
policies.• Collaborate with legal counsel, IT, and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to risk m
anagement.
Qual
ifications:• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, social work or a rel
ated field.• A Master's degree in healthcare administration, social work (administration track), public administration, business or a similar area is
preferred.• Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or other relevant compliance certifications
preferred.• Five years in healthcare compliance, administration, or a rel
ated field.• Three years of leadership experience, including managing teams an
d projects.• Experience leading audits, facilitating Root Cause Analyses, and overseeing the development and resolution of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs). Proven ability to manage compliance tracking systems and escalate unresolved or syste
