The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) of Dutchess County has multiple openings available for full-time Prevention Counselors to provide individual and group counseling to middle and high school students. We provide prevention education and early intervention counseling that has consistently demonstrated the ability to prevent or delay alcohol and other drug use in adolescents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students referred to prevention services
- Provide individual and group counseling
- Promote school-wide prevention education and awareness activities
- Participate in school meetings, committees, and assemblies as needed
- Provide monthly statistical reporting and documentation in EHR
- Maintain visibility by attending after-school activities
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a counseling-related field
- NYS license or licensure eligibility: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, LCAT, and master’s-level psychologists
